Wildlife Workshops

For more relaxed and self-led workshops, I teach Wildlife Illustration which begins with a watercolour demonstration, followed by an open session where attendees can either follow my step-by-steps for a badger, fox or moth - or choose their own adventure! I’m on hand to guide each attendee with technique help and ideas for their illustrations. This is a great workshop for groups of friends who want to catch up, as there are less ‘follow this step!’ demonstrations from myself, or experienced painters who want to unwind in a lovely venue with a drink and enjoy a quiet session of creativity.

I’ve taught this workshop at the following venues:

  • Overdraft Southampton

  • John Lewis, Southampton

John Lewis

I had the pleasure of running a pop-up shop in John Lewis, Southampton for a week where I displayed and sold my products and hosted a different workshop each evening. Attendees joined me in the West Quay store for an hour of relaxing watercolour painting.

LWD Networking Event

I collaborated with local group LWD (Ladies ,Wine and Design) on one of their networking events in Southampton where I hosted a wildlife illustration workshop where attendees can choose between one of my Art Club tutorials to paint their own nature illustrations!

Art Club!

Monday evenings are your new designated ‘me-time’ moments where you can switch off for an hour, learn something new and explore different themes each week! All you need is a Zoom account, paper and whatever art supplies you have - even a biro! I’ll demonstrate various techniques to tailor to your materials.

Art Club evolved over 2020 from a small series called Biro Botanicals (which was initially a placeholder offering while we were in lockdown!) to a regular Monday night online club! Each session is £5 and an easygoing session with a different theme each week.

Botanical Letters

Illustrate a letter of your choice with beautiful botanicals in this relaxing and beginner friendly workshop! With seasonal floral references to inspire you, you’ll sketch a letter of your choice and decorate it with layers of paint in your own style. As you follow my demonstration, you’ll experiment with watercolour and gouache paint and build confidence as you develop your art practise.

I’ve taught this class online and at:

  • The Sorting Office Studios, Eastleigh

  • The Lunch Lounge, Southampton

Pet Portraits

I absolutely love teaching this class! I’ve composed the Pet Portrait Masterclass to be a nice, long session where we explore how to use a lightbox to trace photographs, use watercolour paints to create textures and gouache paints to apply dainty details. I really enjoy getting to know the pets and helping attendees capture their likeness!

I have taught this class at the following venues:

  • The Sorting Office Studios, Eastleigh

  • The d.@rt Centre at Wildern School, Hedge End

  • The River Rat, Hamble
