Hand-lettered Chalkboards

I’ve collaborated with Mettricks, my favourite independent coffee house in Southampton to write and illustrate a series of chalkboards to hang above the bar in their brand new branch that’s just opened in Portswood! Inspired by coffee plants and the branding on their menu, I decorated the boards with graphic shapes and botanical illustrations to accompany the handwritten items.

I’ve worked on boards for the Guildhall and Woolston branches and it was a joy to be asked to create these boards again, which we completed in time for their grand opening on 3rd March!

The boards began as digital sketches on my iPad, then throughout the month I strolled down to my local branch in Woolston to draw them one at a time (with the help of the super friendly team who kept me refreshed with decaf flat whites!)

I’m very excited to visit the new site and check out their cocktail list - I’m very intrigued by their Pancake Mojito!
