Welcome to my very first haul blog post! I’d love to show you what I bought in Collectif’s Summer sale in preparation for my first cruise holiday.
In a few weeks time, Martin and I will be embarking on our first cruise holiday with Royal Carribbean, and I'm well excited! So, as a treat for a productive month with my shop, I treated myself to a cheeky shop on Collectif's online sale. I've been following this vintage inspired London based brand for years, but this is the first time I placed an order; the sale was the perfect opportunity to try them out, and my upcoming holiday was the perfect excuse!
The Tropical Fitted Dress
This banana leaf print dress was the beauty that lured me to the sale in the first place - this is such a me pattern; leafy and tropical! I never wear figure hugging bodycon dresses (I’m more of a baggy dress with a waist belt kinda gal), so I was apprehensive about how I’d feel trying it on - but I bloody loved it! The fabric is soft and comfortable, and the straps can be worn in several ways or removed. I think I'll feel awkward at first as this fitted style is new territory for me (plus I'll be eating and drinking everything in sight, so fingers crossed it still fits throughout the cruise!) but I'm really excited to wear this look.
The Peachy Shorts
How cute is these shorts? The vintage high waist cut is really flattering and the illustrated peach motif is super cute. This style of shorts is a Collectif staple, and they're available in a variety of colours and patterns; the gingham one is another favourite of mine. I would say that they're a bit snug on the waist and thighs when sat down, however I think out and about these shorts will be a great choice teamed with heeled sandals, a crop top and a denim jacket.
The Happy Hour Blouse
This jazzy cropped shirt is really fun and I love the retro print! Perfect with high waisted skinny jeans, or it could work as a cover up when I’m in my bikini by the pool. It's a bit tight on the arms, however with the sale it wasn't worth sending it back in my opinion! It's really cute, and there are lots of other vintage blouses to browse through too. I can't wait to see what the Autumn/Winter range will bring...
The Witchy dress
This dress is my dream cut and fit; a v-neck, floaty batwing sleeves and floaty skirt. Although this flared dress is longer than the dresses I usually wear, I really like the vintage boho look. It will be for more dressy occasions, as I don't think the style will work dressed down - it definitely needs a heel! The pattern is a vibrant tropical design, the top is a corset lace up style and I think it would be perfect for cocktails on the cruise!
I'm really impressed with my haul from Collectif. I think the dresses are the truest to size for me and the most flattering. I found the shorts and the blouse to be tight, but the dresses were a dream. The quality is great and the overall shopping experience was a breeze. I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for their new ranges and future sales! I'm ready to set sail and enjoy the cruise in my new Collectif wardrobe!
