#CancerCosts | CLIC Sargent’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Campaign for Travel Funds for Families
Some of you may be aware of the children’s colouring in competition I judged this summer (check out the post here) - and now we’ve chosen a winner (well done, Jacob!) I want to share with you more information about CLIC Sargent and their mission to help families going through cancer treatment.
This month is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and CLIC Sargent are currently fundraising and collecting signatures to support their #CancerCosts campaign. Families spend £600 or more every month on travel when they have a child receiving treatment for cancer. According to CLIC Sargent, families travel a 60-mile round trip on average to and from hospital, which really adds up the costs when travelling from afar.
We can take action by signing this petition to bring this issue to the governments attention to hopefully create a travel fund. It only takes a few seconds to sign and it could be the start of helping many families nationwide who are already going through a really difficult time.
